Thank you to Kabra Gore, she is currently doing the 21 Day Belly Blast Challenge and had a question regarding Water. Her question inspired me to start my blog again for the first time in a few years, and guess what we will be talking about? WATAAAAAA!
Water is the one important thing to remember in losing weight. Water suppresses the appetite naturally and helps metabolize fat. Not having enough water in your system is one reason for increase in body fat stores, while drinking plenty of water helps reduce fat deposits. One function of the liver is to metabolize fat, but it can't do its job to the fullest if it has to do the work of the Kidneys, this happens if the Kidneys do not get enough water. In other words, drink plenty of agua so our Kidneys and Liver can do their jobs and the body can function like it should. Lets talk fluid retention, the best way to get rid of water retention is to DRINK UP! When your body does not get enough water, it goes into survival mode and holds on to every drop of water it can. It goes into extra cellular spaces which shows up as swollen belly, feet, legs and hands. Diuretics help temporarily but when it flushes out water it also flushes out some essential nutrients. Here are other benefits of drinking plenty of water.... ~ Water helps prevent muscle fatigue during exercise and helps in maintaining proper muscle tone ~ Water helps get rid of body wastes and toxins ~ Water helps with constipation and maintain normal bowel functions ~ Water helps prevent sagging skin following weight loss ~ Water helps with headaches, there are many reassons for headaches but dehydration is one common reason So how much water should you drink per day? Half your bodyweight in ounces. So if you weigh 150lbs, you should drink 75 ounces of water per day, more during the summer time and if you work out. So here's to healthier functioning bodies, "CHEERS!" Gulp!
